CITY OF CHICO: Burglary Suspect Apprehended by Chico Police K9 Kimbo

City of Chico issued the following announcement.

Case# 20-006789

On 12/11/20 at approximately 2255 hours, Chico Police Officers responded to Pick-n-Pull regarding an alarm. Officers began searching the premises, utilizing K9 Officer Marshall 

and his partner Kimbo. During the search, Officers observed a subject flee from them toward a corner of the business out of their view. Kimbo tracked the subject’s scent to a van. 

Officers located belongings that they believed belonged to the suspect. Officer Marshall used Kimbo to search the interior of the van after the suspect failed to respond to Officers 

announcements and continued to attempt to evade capture. The suspect was apprehended by Kimbo with a bite to his lower leg. Officers then took the suspect into custody safely 

without any further incident. The suspect was immediately treated for his injuries and later transported to a local hospital for treatment. He was identified as John Logan Brickner 

(51 yrs old). Brickner had a felony warrant for his arrest for a violation of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS).

Brickner was charged with the following California offenses:

21310 Penal Code: Carrying a Concealed Dirk or Dagger

664/459 Penal Code: Attempted Burglary

148(a) Penal Code: Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer

10852 Vehicle Code: Vehicle Tampering

647(h) Penal Code: Prowling

466 Penal Code: Possession of Burglary Tools

496(a) Penal Code: Possession of Stolen Property

Location: Pick-n-Pull (397 E. Park Ave, Chico CA)

Victims: Pick-n-Pull, State of California

Suspect: John Logan Brickner (51 yrs old)
