Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher has reached out to President-elect Donald Trump, congratulating him on his recent electoral victory and seeking collaboration to tackle California’s pressing issues. In an open letter, Gallagher highlighted the challenges faced by the state, including wildfires, energy costs, and crime.

“From wildfires to energy costs to crime, California is facing serious problems. With a new Trump administration, California has a unique opportunity to make progress on these critical issues,” stated Gallagher. “It’s time to come together to find real solutions that improve people’s lives.”

Gallagher criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s call for a special session aimed at “Trump-proofing” California. He labeled it as a “total political stunt” that fails to address the concerns of ordinary Californians.

James Gallagher serves as the Assemblyman for the 3rd Assembly District, covering Glenn, Sutter, Tehama, and Yuba counties along with parts of Butte and Colusa counties.
