In a recent interview with Fox 40’s Eytan Wallace, Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (Yuba City) criticized Governor Gavin Newsom’s actions as the California Supreme Court heard the governor’s lawsuit to remove the Taxpayer Protection Act from the ballot. Gallagher said, “He’s fine with taking away your right to vote on the ballot in November. So look, I think people see the hypocrisy and they’re just not buying his bulls*** anymore.”

The governor and his Democrat allies have often portrayed themselves as champions of democracy. However, according to Gallagher, they are actively working to prevent Californians from exercising their democratic rights in the upcoming November elections.

Gallagher suggested that instead of spending tax dollars on legal efforts to limit Californians’ rights, Governor Newsom and legislative Democrats should concentrate on addressing other pressing issues. One such issue is the state’s $73 billion budget crisis.

Gallagher asserted that Californians should have the opportunity to vote on the Taxpayer Protection Act this November, and he contends that Newsom has no authority to prevent them from doing so.
