Following the recent decision by Assembly Democrats to largely abandon the social media platform X, Assembly Republicans have established a presence on Bluesky. They have launched an account on this platform, described as a liberal echo chamber, in an effort to demonstrate their willingness to engage with differing viewpoints.

The newly created Republican account, asmrepublicans.bsky.social, will carry the same messages they share on other platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram. The focus of their content will include critiques of Assembly Democrats on issues such as the cost of living, crime, wildfire prevention, and infrastructure maintenance.

Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher, representing East Nicolaus, commented, “Democrats can run, but they can’t hide from being called out for their out-of-touch agenda that’s made California less safe and less affordable.” He emphasized the Republicans’ openness to diverse perspectives, stating, “Republicans are willing to listen to voices from across the political spectrum and don’t need a safe space to get away from opinions we don’t like.”

In addition to their Bluesky account, Assembly Republicans maintain active profiles on other social media platforms: X under the handle @AsmRepublicans, Facebook as California Assembly Republicans, and Instagram as @AssemblyGOP.
