Chico Unified School District had the highest enrollment among Butte County school districts, welcoming 14,156 students during the 2022-23 school year, according to the California Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.2% of them were boys, and 48.3% were girls.

Data also showed that the majority of students were white, making up 54.4% of Chico Unified School District’s total enrollment.
