The Butte County Planning Commission is inviting local residents to attend a public workshop focused on proposed amendments to the county’s Zoning Ordinance. The event will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 9:00 am in the Hall of Records Training Room at 155 Nelson Avenue, Oroville.
According to the commission, the workshop aims to present findings from a recent Land Use Survey and gather community feedback. The discussion will center on potential updates related to regulations for home businesses, short-term rentals, and recreational camping.
A statement from the commission reads: “This is a valuable opportunity for residents to learn about the findings from the Land Use Survey and share their feedback, which will help shape future updates to the Butte County Zoning Ordinance related to the regulation of home businesses, short-term rentals, and recreational camping.”
Community participation is encouraged as officials emphasize that resident input will play a key role in ensuring zoning regulations meet local needs. “Community input is essential in ensuring that updates to the Zoning Ordinance reflect the needs and concerns of Butte County residents, thereby enhancing the regulation of land uses throughout the County,” according to information provided by county representatives.
