The Butte County Auditor-Controller’s Office has been honored with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This recognition is for the county’s Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023. The report was evaluated by an impartial panel and met the high standards set by both the Government Finance Officers Association and the State Auditor’s Office.

The Certificate of Achievement represents a significant accomplishment in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Gutierrez expressed pride in working for an agency that manages its finances responsibly, stating, “I take great pride in working for a government agency that conducts its finances in such a responsible manner.” He emphasized the importance of transparency, adding, “We publish our Comprehensive Financial Report on an annual basis, which demonstrates and displays how taxpayer dollars are being expended. Maintaining a high level of transparency is important, and this award represents the level of care and responsibility we take when working with public finances.”

The preparation of the Comprehensive Financial Report involves considerable effort from multiple employees who deserve acknowledgment. The report can be accessed at https://www.buttecounty.net/1758/Annual-Comprehensive-Financial-Reports.
