Even CNN is questioning Gavin Newsom’s recent actions, as highlighted in a KFILE investigation that scrutinizes his attempts to alter his past policy positions. The report by Andrew Kaczynski presents evidence contradicting Newsom’s current statements on various progressive issues.
In a podcast, Newsom claimed, “Not one person ever in my office has ever used the word Latinx.” However, footage reveals that he has frequently used “Latinx” in speeches and official communications. This discrepancy is further supported by CNN’s coverage.
Regarding trans athletes, Newsom stated: “It is an issue of fairness. And I think Democrats have lost that.” Yet, as Lieutenant Governor, he had previously praised California’s trans student law and thanked the Legislature for advancing transgender rights.
CNN concluded these are significant shifts from policies Newsom once championed to now distancing himself from them. When approached for comment, Newsom’s team declined to provide a statement.
Democratic legislators also express their frustration with Newsom’s political maneuvers. A former Assembly Speaker noted receiving numerous messages expressing confusion over his changing stance.
