As Governor Gavin Newsom focuses on building his personal podcast brand, questions about the ethics of his endeavor are being raised. Newsom recently launched a podcast, which some view as an attempt to enhance his national image. However, there are concerns that the podcast may be designed for future financial gain after his term ends.

Newsom has asserted that the podcasting company, BBF, is valued at under $2,000 and has earned him less than $500. He also stated it offers him “no rights to income while in office.” Despite this, the company is reportedly funneling money into his blind trust, raising concerns about potential financial benefits once he leaves office.

Additionally, it has been noted that the individual responsible for ensuring Newsom’s finances remain free of conflicts of interest is managing the podcasting company. Meanwhile, her husband is a co-host of the show with Newsom.

This situation has led to frustration among Californians, who feel that Newsom is prioritizing his podcast over the needs of his constituents. Some worry that the podcast could become a source of personal profit for Newsom after his term, complicating the ethical landscape of this endeavor.
