Gallagher addresses loss of Chico’s historic Bidwell Mansion after fire

Assemblyman James Gallagher has expressed his sorrow over the destruction of Chico’s historic Bidwell Mansion in a recent fire. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Gallagher stated, “For generations, this historic landmark has been an essential part of Chico’s identity and heritage. While the investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway, it’s clear that this beloved site will be deeply missed.”

He extended his condolences to those affected by the loss and emphasized community support during this challenging period. “My heart goes out to everyone who holds this place dear, and I know our community will come together in this difficult time to support one another,” he said.

Gallagher also acknowledged the efforts of first responders and committed to preserving Bidwell Mansion’s legacy for future generations. “Thank you to our first responders for their tireless efforts. We will work to ensure that the legacy of Bidwell Mansion is preserved for future generations,” he concluded.
