Today, Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher responded to the Legislative Analyst’s Office report on California’s fiscal outlook. The report projects a $2 billion deficit for the upcoming fiscal year, with anticipated shortfalls extending significantly until at least 2029.

Gallagher expressed his concerns about the state’s financial management, stating, “California is the highest-tax state in the country, yet we are still facing multi-billion-dollar deficits well into the future. Democrats got us into this mess and I have no confidence in their ability to fix things without inflicting real pain on Californians.”

Assemblyman Gallagher represents California’s 3rd Assembly District, which includes all of Glenn, Sutter, Tehama, and Yuba counties as well as parts of Butte and Colusa counties.
