Today, Governor Gavin Newsom visited Colusa County as part of his “Jobs First” tour, focusing on projects like the Sites Reservoir and Delta tunnel. However, Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher criticized the governor for not fulfilling his promises related to infrastructure and job creation.

Gallagher expressed his frustration with the pace of progress. “The only ‘first’ about this tour is it’s the first time Newsom has cared about jobs in his six years as governor,” he stated. He highlighted that the Sites Reservoir project has been under discussion since the Eisenhower administration and noted that voters approved funding a decade ago. “What on Earth is taking so long? Californians need more results and fewer publicity stunts from the governor,” Gallagher added.

Assemblyman James Gallagher represents California’s 3rd Assembly District, which includes Glenn, Sutter, Tehama, Yuba counties, and parts of Butte and Colusa counties.
