SACRAMENTO – Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher issued the following statement on the California Public Utilities Commission’s proposal to impose an income-based fixed charge on Californians’ utility bills:

Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher expressed his concerns about the California Public Utilities Commission’s proposal, stating, “Californians are tired of dealing with some of the highest electric bills in the country. Rather than spending time and energy debating how to shift around California’s bloated electric rates, we need to be all-in on bringing down the cost of power. It’s time to focus on affordability.”
