California State Rep. James Gallagher, who serves as Assembly Republican Leader and represents several Northern California counties, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues of abuse of power, political accountability, and campaign finance.
On April 11, 2026, Gallagher commented on allegations involving inappropriate relationships and power dynamics: “This took a whole lot of courage on the part of all the women involved. The heart of the issue captured by @ms_frazzled is ‘abuse of power’ relationships. They have been swept under the rug for far too long. It’s not acceptable. It’s akin to grooming.”
In another post dated April 13, 2026, Gallagher called for further action regarding members of Congress: “Quitting the campaign is one thing, but now Swalwell needs to resign. And if he doesn’t resign he should be kicked out of Congress, along with Tony Gonzalez.”
Later that same day, Gallagher made a critical remark about Tom Steyer’s financial practices: “Lol. Yes if you like lighting money on fire Steyer is your guy. Look what he does with his own billions, imagine what he will do with the public treasury.”
Gallagher’s comments reflect his broader role as an elected official representing Butte, Glenn, Placer, Sutter, Tehama, and Yuba counties in the California Assembly. He has also provided constituent services such as assistance with state agencies and community resources, offered support for public transportation initiatives, and shared district information for communities served. As Republican Leader in the Assembly, Gallagher plays a key role in legislative leadership within his district and across California.
