James Gallagher, a notable figure in political discourse, shared his views on several issues through social media posts. His tweets reflect his stance on law enforcement, taxation, and immigration policies.
On June 7, 2025, Gallagher expressed some “fundamental truths” following recent events. He stated that individuals must adhere to the law and noted that interference with law enforcement would lead to arrest. Additionally, he emphasized the inevitability of paying taxes despite personal aversion: “You have to follow the law. If you interfere with those enforcing the law, you will be arrested.”
In another tweet on the same day, Gallagher questioned the implications of California potentially withholding taxes from the federal government. He posed a rhetorical question about whether counties, cities, and individuals could similarly withhold their taxes from California: “If California withholds is taxes from the federal government, can counties, cities and individuals withhold their taxes from California?”
On June 8, 2025, Gallagher addressed immigration policy discussions. He acknowledged some Democrats’ calls for restraint regarding federal immigration forces’ operations. He supported this approach as necessary to avoid chaos in Los Angeles: “Glad to hear some Democrats calling for people to stand down and let federal immigration forces do their jobs deporting criminal illegal immigrants.”
Gallagher serves as a Republican member of the California State Assembly representing District 3 since 2014.
