James Gallagher, a prominent voice in California politics, recently shared his concerns about rising gas taxes and other financial burdens on Californians through a series of tweets. His comments focused on actions by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Democratic politicians’ response to these issues.
On June 2, 2025, Gallagher expressed his frustration with upcoming tax increases. He stated that “Soon Democrat politicians in California will have the opportunity to stop another gas tax increase. The California Air Resources Board is poised to increase your gas taxes another 50 cents come July. Enough is enough.” He urged for control over CARB’s decisions regarding taxation.
Later that day, Gallagher continued his critique of political leaders in Sacramento. He questioned their effectiveness by asking, “In what ways have you ‘delivered’ for Californians @AsmDems?” Highlighting issues such as rising gas prices, electricity bills, and insurance rates, he argued that forming select committees was not a sufficient solution.
Finally, Gallagher provided an update on the situation regarding the gas tax decision. He noted that “Democratic politicians had the chance to stand up for you and stop the new Gas Tax from the Air Resources Board. Surprise: They didn’t.”
Additional information reveals that James Gallagher serves as a Republican Assemblyman representing California’s Third District.
