James Gallagher, California Assembly Republican Leader and representative for the state’s Third Assembly District, has made several statements on his social media account in January 2026 addressing current political and legislative issues.
On January 11, Gallagher posted: “Unbelievable. This needs to be brought to an end.”
The following day, he commented further on political discourse: “This is (unfortunately) not surprising. This is the result of the same mental illness that causes people to call law enforcement officers ‘secret police’ and legitimately elected leaders ‘Nazis’. It’s not true and it’s designed to cater to, manipulate, and incite the most” (January 12).
On January 13, Gallagher addressed fiscal policy in state government: “LAO: Danger Will Robinson Danger! Will legislative Democrats go along with the Governor’s fiscal insanity?”
Gallagher serves constituents in Butte, Glenn, Placer, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba counties as part of his role as Assembly Republican Leader.
