James Gallagher, California State Representative and Assembly Republican Leader, shared a series of tweets in late April and early May 2026 commenting on the ongoing gubernatorial race and campaign issues in California.
On April 30, Gallagher promoted his campaign’s new advertisement, writing: “Check out our first ad of the campaign! We call it, ‘Fighter’ #TeamGallagher #CA01 #UniteTheNorth https://t.co/1DS4HLcPTo”.
A day later, on May 1, he criticized the California Democratic establishment’s choices in the governor’s race. He posted: “The CA Dem establishment is really on a roll in this Gov race. First they lined up behind a predator. Then the Boring Billionaire. Now it’s the guy who is so bad at oversight, he literally enabled an embezzlement scheme out of his own campaign account. Sad and pathetic. https://t.co/TWOObrOWfi”.
Shortly after, Gallagher addressed concerns over business policy in California by tweeting: “I’m trying to understand why this is bad. It’s like 35k or something, right? They are a legacy California company. You are hell bent on running them out of CA and raising gas prices to $10. We’d be screwed. Meanwhile you have spent $150 million trying to buy the election. https://t.co/rhgnIXpBk8”.
Gallagher represents constituents from areas including Butte, Glenn, Placer, Sutter, Tehama, and Yuba counties as part of his role in the California Assembly (official website). He has provided resources for public transportation and community support as well as assistance with state agencies (official website). As Assembly Republican Leader (official website), Gallagher continues to engage with district issues while commenting on statewide political developments.
