Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Butte College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Butte College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

California residents paid $1,368 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-resident students would have paid 410.5 percent more than residents this year, or $6,984. Non-resident tuition and fees were unchanged from $6,984 in 2017-18.

About 94 percent of the school's undergraduate population are California residents. And about 3 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 72 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 834 students received grants or scholarships totaling $5 million and 50 students took out student loans totaling more than $248,854.

Including all undergraduates (10,872), 6,969 students used grants or scholarships totaling $27.2 million, and 676 students took out $3.8 million in federal student loans.
