Citrus Avenue Elementary School issued the following announcement.
Governor Gavin Newsom just announced changes to the California Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Almost all counties in the State of California are being moved to the most
restrictive Purple Tier (regardless of their current tier status). This change includes Butte County.
How Will This Impact Our School Week
Chico Unified School District has continued to prepare for all stages of the Governor’s Reopening Plan. At this time, it is our understanding that this unforeseen announcement will
not impact our instructional model for the current week. Currently, the Chico Unified School District plans to continue this week in our Modified Traditional AM/PM model (week of
11/16/20 – 11/20/20). We will continue to provide updates if new information becomes available.
As a reminder, next week is Thanksgiving Break, and there will be no school for students during the holiday break (Monday, 11/23 - Friday, 11/27).
Next Steps Moving Forward
The Chico Unified School District Board of Education unanimously approved to hold a Board Meeting in the event Butte County was moved to the most restrictive Purple Tier.
There are currently two already scheduled Board Meetings – Wednesday, November 18 and Wednesday, December 9. Also, district and site administration will be conducting additional
planning meetings to address the Governor’s announcement.
As we work to identify how the Governor’s changes will impact Chico Unified School District, we will continue to provide families with updates as soon as possible. Please make
sure to check your Aeries Parent Portal and the website for any additional changes or information.
