SACRAMENTO – Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher issued a statement on Elon Musk’s announcement to relocate the headquarters of X and SpaceX to Texas following Gov. Gavin Newsom's signing of a law allowing school employees to conceal students’ gender transitions from parents.

“Gavin Newsom’s anti-parent agenda isn’t just bad for families – now it’s doing serious damage to California’s economy. With the highest unemployment rate in the nation, you’d think our governor would be doing everything possible to protect jobs. Instead, he’s pandering to extremists in his party by cutting parents out of their kids’ education and driving even more businesses to pack up for other states,” Gallagher stated.

In addition to the ban on parental notification policies, Musk cited the need to “dodge gangs of violent drug addicts” that surround X’s San Francisco headquarters as another reason for moving.
