Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher has expressed criticism concerning the recent passage of the Democrats’ “early action” budget bill in Sacramento, California. Gallagher highlighted his concerns in a statement that pointed out the financial allocations and the priorities set by the Democrats in this bill.
“There’s something wrong with Democrats’ priorities," Gallagher remarked. He further criticized the budget for allocating nearly $3 billion towards benefits for illegal immigrants without providing accountability for the burgeoning costs. Moreover, he pointed out that less than one-tenth of the budget is dedicated to wildfire prevention, a figure he finds insufficient given the significance of this issue.
According to Gallagher, the budget does little to address the high cost of living, which he noted was purportedly a priority for Democrats this year. Gallagher claimed, “Democrats do not have the daily and persistent focus or courage to reject the status quo in order to meet the urgent needs of working Californians.”
