Cities such as San Jose, Sacramento, and San Francisco have intensified actions to clear encampments. However, there is criticism that Democrat lawmakers in Sacramento are not responding to these concerns. They have been accused of continuing to propose what some see as impractical solutions, such as allowing students to sleep in cars or banning the enforcement of camping laws entirely.

Assembly Republicans align with the broader public opinion, expressing frustration with the current situation and calling for accountability. They advocate for a strategy that increases access to treatment and services while ensuring public spaces remain clean and safe.
